MEANT TO BE DANCED
Statuesque soloist Savannah Lowery of the New York City Ballet says, “I never feel more like a ballerina than when I’m dancing to Tschaikovsky. His music is feminine and graceful—it was meant to be danced.” Following the company’s annual holiday confection, George Balanchine’s “The Nutcracker,” the NYCB continues its winter celebration of Peter Ilyitch Tschaikovsky’s music with “Balanchine & Tschaikovsky” featuring the compositions, “Serenade,” “Mozartiana,” and “Tschaikovsky Piano Concerto No. 2.” Running for five performances starting tonight, you can also see it Jan. 16, 18, 19, or 26.
